The Rode Podcaster is a USB microphone that uses dynamic, end-address technology to deliver high-quality audio recordings with the convenience of USB connectivity. It has an 18-bit resolution, 48kHz sampling A/D converter that processes all analog-to-digital conversions internally, bypassing the need for an external digital interface. The microphone features a headphone output on its body for zero-latency monitoring and an internal pop filter to reduce plosive sounds that can distort audio output.
The Rode Podcaster is fully compatible with Windows and Mac OS X computers, as well as several Linux distributions. It is ideal for podcasting, vodcasting, YouTube videos, voice recognition software, corporate videos, and any production application that requires a professional voice-over microphone. The microphone is also suitable for musicians and songwriters who prefer the convenience of a USB microphone but do not want to compromise on sound quality.
Additionally, the Podcaster can function as an iPad microphone for Apple iPad, provided it is used in conjunction with the iPad Camera Connection Kit and a powered USB hub. The microphone comes with an RM2 microphone ring mount, and for professional applications, the optional PSM1 shock mount and PSA1 boom arm are recommended.
