Through the use of SIGMA's up-to-date optical design technology, the lens is constructed to effectively reduce various types of aberrations, including axial chromatic aberration, which cannot be corrected in-camera.

To prevent accidental adjustments during shooting, the aperture lock switch on the lens body secures the aperture ring in Auto mode. Notably beneficial for filmmakers, the aperture ring can be smoothly switched to a de-clicked mode, facilitating seamless exposure adjustments.
