Canon 8x20 IS Binoculars Overview
Canon's 8x20 IS Image Stabilized Binoculars build upon the success of their larger IS binoculars and integrate the Lens Shift Image Stabilization technology from their EF lenses. These binoculars are designed to be versatile and compact, effectively compensating for hand-shaking and making them well-suited for extended periods of bird-watching, nature observation, or enjoying sporting events. The Lens Shift Image Stabilization system minimizes potential shaking caused by movement and vibration through a continuously adjusting vibration gyro mechanism, moving the IS lens vertically and horizontally. Users can select between Normal or Powered IS options based on the situation to achieve optimal performance.
In addition to their impressive image stabilization capabilities, these binoculars feature optical enhancements that contribute to overall image quality. Canon employs their antireflection Super Spectra Coating system to reduce light loss and enhance image contrast across the entire visual spectrum. The Porro prism optical path provides a rich depth of field, allowing users to judge distances between objects better and delivering a wider field of view compared to similar roof prism models. Spherical aberration is corrected with a field flattener, ensuring distortion-free views, especially at the edges.
