The optical construction of the 28-75mm F2.8 G2 deploys 17 elements in 15 groups. To minimize optical aberrations to an extreme degree, two LD (Low Dispersion) and two GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lens elements are used in an optimal arrangement. The lens demonstrates high resolving power to the edges of the frame at all focal lengths, while also offering the soft and beautiful bokeh that is distinctive to fast-aperture lenses.

This advanced AF mechanism combines class-leading speed and precision, enabling fast and accurate focusing from MOD (Minimum Object Distance) through to infinity. What’s more, excellent focus tracking performance of moving objects makes it possible to capture sharp images. Plus, the lens is extremely quiet, so it’s perfectly suited for both still and video shooting in conditions that demand silent operation.
Compact and lightweight design
The 28-75mm F2.8 G2 for Nikon Z mount is 119.8mm (4.7in) long and weighs 550g (19.4oz) which is easy to carry and a lightweight that’s well-suited for handheld shooting for extended periods. The lens will likely become your best choice for travel, street shooting, everyday carry, and spontaneous photo opportunities.
Achieves an MOD of 0.18m (7.1 in) and maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.7
Close focusing has also been improved. The MOD of the 28-75mm F2.8 G2 is 0.18m (7.1in) at the wide 28mm end, an improvement over the 1st-generation Model A036. This allows photographers to capture powerful shots that emphasize the perspective effects unique to wide-angle photography when shooting close-ups. The working distance becomes about 4.4cm (1.7in) at the MOD. The maximum magnification ratio is 1:2.7. Get closer to any subject and enjoy the world of wide macro photography. In addition, at the telephoto end, the MOD is 0.38m (15in). The magnification ratio when using the longer 75mm focal length is 1:4.1, enabling close-up shooting with greater working distance.
