Fortunately, Profoto has introduced a solution to this problem with their 24" OCF Beauty Dish, which can be collapsed down to the size of an umbrella for easy portability. The dish's deflector plate reflects light outwards towards the edge of the beauty dish, and setting it up is a breeze - just use the separately-purchased OCF speed ring to attach the rods before snapping them into place.
