Multiple Elements for Quality Images

The Canon EF Extender 1.4x III has seven optical elements in three groups and all of them have Canon’s Super Spectra coating that minimises ghosting and lens flare. The lens also has an Anti-smear coating (Silky Barrier Coating) on the front and rear elements to prevent watermarks or fingerprints. This also makes it easier to clean compared to standard coatings.

Built-in Microcomputer

The Canon EF Extender 1.4x III has a built-in microcomputer that enables intuitive and undisrupted communication between the lens, extender, and camera. When used with the latest range of premium Canon L-series lenses, the extender allows AF accuracy even when capturing moving subjects. Note that when attached, the Canon extender reduces the effective maximum aperture by 1 stop.
