With the aim of optimising video recording performance, focus breathing (shifting of the angle of view while adjusting focus) is effectively compensated and noise (e.g. AF drive, diaphragm drive and control room operation) is minimised thanks to the lens’ quiet, clickless operation. A state-of-the-art stepping motor (STM) ensures quiet, responsive AF operation while smooth diaphragm control ensures a natural transition of image brightness.

Refinement in Design

Every aspect of the lens’ design has been refined to ensure it performs to the highest level. Lighter than other fixed-aperture zoom lenses, the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S is also dust and drip resistant so you can shoot with confidence in challenging conditions. State-of-the-art Nano Crystal, Fluorine and ARNEO coatings provide superb anti-reflective properties (including exceptional tolerance for backlight) as well as resistance to dirt – a big advantage for outdoor shooters. Even the lens hood has been crafted with felt lighting to reduce light reflection, and a hood release preventing accidental dropping of the hood.

Customisable Control Ring

Smoothly and intuitively adjust aperture or exposure compensation using Nikon’s newly developed control ring. This superb feature is made even more convenient by the addition of an L-Fn (lens function) button (which allows an increased number of functions to be assigned) as well as an interactive info panel that helps you determine settings such as aperture, focus distance and depth-of-field without having to look into the viewfinder.
