Canon 1DX III Rewrites Pro Standards with Revolutionary Sensor, Speed & 5.5K 60p Video

Proving many of the rumours true, the Canon EOS 1DX Mark III—Canon’s fastest and most impressive performer to date—has been officially unveiled.
Like the Canon 1DX Mark I and Mark II before it, Canon’s latest flagship DSLR is a performance machine tailored for pros working in the most challenging fields – sports, wildlife, photojournalism, and even weddings. However, while the Mark III will feel physically familiar to existing 1DX users, its stills/video quality, speed, longevity and connectivity have all dramatically evolved to meet both today’s and tomorrow’s demands.
Next Generation Processor & Sensor with Low-Pass Filter
The Canon 1DX III boasts superior image quality, processing speeds and power efficiency, courtesy of a brand new, 20.1MP full frame CMOS sensor and next-gen DiG!C X processor. Clarity and low light performance are markedly improved (ISO sensitivity ranges from 50 to a whopping 819,200), while a groundbreaking new 16-point low-pass filter makes the Canon 1DX III excellent at capturing typically hard-to-shoot features like low contrast and fine patterns.
Industry-Leading Speed
Speed has always been the signature of the 1D series. The Canon 1DX III rewrites this entirely with industry-leading* burst speeds of 16 fps with AF and AE tracking (20 fps in live view with no shutter sound), a huge buffer capacity of 1000 RAW images, faster data transfer (via built-in ethernet or optional wireless file transmitter), and an incredible new AF (autofocus) system.
Deep Learning AF
With 28 times greater centre resolution and three times more AF points than the 1DX II, the Canon 1D X III’s new AF sensor will be a game-changer for anyone who shoots fast action. Deep learning technology delivers exceptional tracking performance and AF over a wider exposure range, ensuring greater accuracy in more scenarios and lighting conditions than ever. The AF system is specially adapted for sporting situations, with the ability to detect and sharply focus a subject’s head/face at high speed even when the subject’s eyes are obscured by a helmet or goggles.
Covering around 90 x 100% of the sensor with 525 AF areas, Dual Pixel CMOS AF is available in Live View and video (4K and RAW mode), and Eye Detection AF works during Servo AF in live view mode for stills and movies. On top of that, a new smart controller optical device has been built into the AF-on button, allowing you to change the AF point faster and more easily.
5.5K 60p & Crop-Free 4K 60p Video
The Canon 1DX III boasts video specs that make it Canon’s most advanced interchangeable-lens video product bar Cinema EOS cameras.
It offers 5.5K 60p RAW Movies (12-bit RAW internal) and 4K 60p with no crop, giving content creators rich detail and an outstanding array of hues and tones to play with in post. 10-bit 4:2:2 internal recording is available via Canon Log, providing greatly expanded recording and editing possibilities. HEIF (High Efficiency Image File) format is also included, letting you save 10-bit files with greater dynamic range and colour depth than JPEGs of the same size.
The Canon 1DX III is also equipped with Movie Digital IS (featured in high-end Canon cinema cameras), designed to deliver 5-axis stabilisation for smooth, sharply focused footage on the fly.
