Once installed, the S1 will be capable of using the V-Log L gamma and V-Gamut, which offers a flat color profile and a wider, approximately 15-stop dynamic range for greater control during post-production color grading.
The addition of this gamma also allows users to better match color with existing VariCam systems that feature standard V-Log, as both profiles utilize the same characteristic curve and LUT.
This upgrade also enables recording 4K60 video with 4:2:2 10-bit sampling to an external recorder over HDMI, as well as internal 4K30/24 video recording with 4:2:2 10-bit sampling.
